Signed, Sealed, Delivered

The deed is done! I have cast my vote in Election 08.

Oregon's voting process is done by mail so we get our ballots a few weeks before the official election day. I must admit, it was fairly surreal to finally see the candidates' names on the ballot after all this time. Too much time. Does the lead-up to an election really have to be two years long? It seems excessive. Just sayin'.

Patriotically,

Your voting process seems very civilized rather than the line ups incurred all over the U.S. today to make your vote count.
Perhaps the U.S. could learn something from your Canadian roots and call an election that will be six WEEKS away. Get the issues on the table and then vote. Don't go through all this bickering! It is costing FAR too much money that could be much better spent.
